Welcome to the Woolton Hill Argyle FC web site. We are based just to the South of Newbury, Berkshire in the Hampshire village of Woolton Hill.
Affiliated to Hampshire FA and playing in the Peter Houseman Youth League, WHA runs teams in Mini-Soccer from Under 7 to Under 10 and at 11-a-side from Under 11 to Under 16.
The Club was established in 2001 with 6 teams made up of mostly local players. Apart from being recognised for fair play by the PHYL in every season, in the season 2007/2008 we had our first cup success as a club with the Under 9 team winning the Peter Houseman Youth League and Cup double.
In 2008/2009 we have teams running at Under 7’s to Under 13’s, and Under 16’s. Younger players are always welcome to join the Under 7’s for a bit of fun at training though!
As a community Club we have no selection criteria and offer football to all players who wish to play. With a number of qualified coaches, players are able to perform to the best of their abilities and gain a good understanding of team sport.
Older players have opportunities to coach and are actively encouraged to take Nationally recognised referee examinations enabling them to have contact with the sport in another form. Several players are now qualified referees.
